Top Shelf Jazz

I first heard of this motley crew when they were performing during an evening of cabaret and cocktails at the wonderful Venetia’s Coffee Shop in Hackney.

“Prohibition Jazz played like it should be: fast and louche! Tantalizing echoes of the British dance hall, Harlem Swing and a dangerous hint of Gypsy Jazz all rolled into one hot menagerie of crooning, tap dance, old world suave, rakish banter and correspondent shoes.”

They’re currently ”inciting bedlam in London and Europe, the band have left their mark on many a venue (and not a few swooning ladies!) with their delicious Art Decodence! Imagine, if you dare, a tea party laced with bootleg gin and wild abandon!”

Time to start the Tennies with a visit to the 30′s?
